By D. Wu "cool guy
Let me first start off with saying, "I have over 15 years of experience and competed in several tournaments." So I know a little something about rackets especially when I've played with a variety of them.
Tennis rackets should never be generalized as "one-size fits all". There's a certain touch and feel to a racket that should your tennis style. Most reviews about this racket are true. It's great for power hitters wanting to tone it down a notch for ball control. It's also perfect for people with huge topspins. You can literally crank the ball over the net and see the ball bounce high off the baseline.
The frame is 100cm and it offers a huge sweet spot. The current set up I have is the String Port inserts with Prince Topspin at 61 lbs. I love the setup, but I only gave this 4 stars is because with this setup the tinny sound is irritating. The other setup after a long day gave me a sore arm from the feedback.
You should definitely give this racket a test drive before purchasing it, cause this racket isn't for everyone. If you want power this isn't it, and I recommend the Prince O3 SpeedPort Red.
The Prince O3 Speedport Black features the first true 'tweener offering in the Prince O3 Speedport racquet line. The Prince O3 Speedport Black features an aerodynamic refinement to the largest sweetspot offered in the Prince racquet line thanks to the use of new square-shaped O-Ports that generates a livelier response across the entire string bed.
Another innovation in the Speedport Black is the use of the Speedport Tuning System (S.T.S.) This system allows customization of the port inserts in the frame at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock positions. The string PORT insert provides a softer, more-damped feel, while the string HOLE insert resembles a traditional grommet that provides more feel and feedback from the stringbed. Each Speedport Black comes with both sets of inserts (the String PORT insert is installed from the factory.)
With a Prince Power Level of 975 and a 100 square inch head, the O3 Speedport Black offers a more-controlled option in the new O3 Speedport line to the very popular O3 White. Overall, the O3 Speedport Black is sure to be one of the best all-around racquets for an intermediate to advanced player with a moderate to fast swing speed.
